Traditional Irish and Scottish Dance Music & Song

Based in Co. Antrim Northern Ireland, 'Haste to the Wedding' are a five piece folk Band specialising in Traditional Ceili Dance Music and Song. They come from various musical backgrounds, and have extensive experience playing traditional music from Ireland, Scotland,  England, Wales and further afield.

The band play a large variety of instruments including banjo, fiddle, guitar, bouzouki, cittern, piano accordion, whistle, bodhran, drums and mandolin. They also have a fine singer..

The band mainly play at Ceilidh Dances, and have an experienced caller who keeps everyone on the right track, and helps those not familiar with the steps join in the 'craic'
Haste to the wedding are saddened to hear of the death of their close friend and musician Paddy Mckeown from Larne.  Paddy had always encouraged the band and the members were delighted to have been involved in the fundraising and recording of the Paddy Mckeown and friends CD 'A handful of songs'.  This CD is now available via this website at the cost of £10 (£1 p&p) with all profits going to the cancer ward at Antrim Hospital.  Click below to purchase.

"We consider that any man who can fiddle all through one of those Virginia Reels without losing his grip, may be depended upon in any kind of musical emergency. "
